Main Stage Cosplay Contest Registration Instructions
Welcome to the thrilling world of cosplay at St Louis Horror Con! To ensure a smooth and exciting experience in our cosplay contest, please follow these essential instructions:

Pre-Registration Required: You must pre-register at the Photo Op Booth before the contest. Please note, guests who fail to register at the pre-judging table before 4 PM will be ineligible to participate in the contest.

Pre-Judging Process: You will be pre-judged 1 hour prior to the cosplay contest in Panel Room B. All contestants will have a chance to talk to the judge at this time.

Costume Guidelines: Your costume should be family-friendly. Ensure it covers all areas typically covered by a bathing suit, thus avoiding exposure of any "naughty bits."

Staging Area Timing: If you're participating in the cosplay contest, be at the staging area at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the contest. Check our online schedule for the exact start time.

Rusty’s Rotten Runway Cosplay Contest - Sunday
Get ready for a spooky twist on cosplay with Rusty’s Rotten Runway at St. Louis Horror Con!
This isn’t your average cosplay contest. Rusty wants to see your favorite characters brought back from the dead. Take a superhero, princess, movie icon, cartoon character, video game hero, or your own original creation and transform them into a terrifying zombie version.
Bring your undead vision to life with creepy makeup, torn costumes, special effects, and creative details while still keeping your character recognizable.
Award Categories
Best Zombified Transformation
Awarded to the cosplay that most creatively combines a character’s iconic look with a horrifying zombie twist. Judges will be looking for creativity, detail, and how well you blend the original character with their undead makeover.
Undead Performance Award
It’s not just about the costume. This award recognizes the cosplayer who fully becomes their zombified character on the runway. Bring the creepy movements, zombie attitude, and unforgettable performance.
Judging
Participants will be judged on creativity, execution, and storytelling.
How well did you transform your character into a zombie? How much effort and detail went into your design? Can you sell your undead character during your runway walk?
Props, makeup, and special effects are highly encouraged. All props must be convention-safe and approved.
Group entries are welcome! Create your own zombie apocalypse team and bring your favorite characters back from the dead together. Groups will be judged as one entry.
Costumes must remain family-friendly, even with zombie gore. Please make sure all costumes are appropriate for an all-ages convention.
Whether you’re a cosplay veteran or entering a contest for the first time, Rusty’s Rotten Runway is all about creativity, horror, and having fun.
